Challenge: The family required a fully connected home that would be in sync with their needs and tastes wherever they were in the home. The system needed to be future proof for the addition of new technology.
Solution: After introducing the client to Crestron at its London showroom, Intellicasa has installed a complete end to end solution into the home, allowing connectivity with all the family’s devices, and ultimate control from a variety of sources. It may seem too much to ask for, an intuitive home that keeps up with your lifestyle and needs, wherever you are. However, Crestron home automation technology has ensured that for one family, this is now a reality.
The owners of this lavish London family home initially bought the property when it was five studio flats, and converted it back into one single dwelling to create a modern, friendly and ultra-functional home. The family brought in London based installer Intellicasa to help transform their property into a connected and intuitive place to live. Elie Kfoury from Intellicasa explains: “Our brief was to create a space that was always connected via the latest technology and allowed the owners to move from room to room with the functionality of the technology being able to move with them.”
The homeowner had looked at several sub-systems for their heating and AV requirements as well as a separate standalone alarm and CCTV system. But, with modern day technology already so far advanced, they found many of the systems on the market clunky and non-portable. After a visit to Crestron’s showroom in Chelsea Harbour, a complete front to back system was agreed upon. This allowed control to the entire house’s technological functions from AV, heating, door entry and CCTV on a single platform.
The result is a fully integrated system that is controllable via smartphones and tablets using the Crestron app, multi-functional remote controls and sleek integrated Crestron touch panels fitted in key locations within the walls of the house, blending in with the home’s interior design. An intuitive, easy to use interface was created and is used across all touch panels, and on any of the family’s smart devices installed with the Crestron app. “We thoroughly enjoy using the Crestron system and working with Elie and his team at Intellicasa on this project. They have been extremely knowledgeable, understood our needs as a family, and applied the use of technology to simplify our life and enhance our overall experience within our home. Most importantly, the home is made safe as we can now even use the bedside lighting keypads to activate the alarm and lights in case of emergencies. The home has been cabled to allow for future expansion, which could include blind and shading control or the integration of air conditioning.
